One Pan Taco Meat Posted on February 5, 2024February 5, 2024 I love cooking, but I hate doing dishes. So this meal is always so easy to make and requires very few dishes. Right up my alley! This is not the original way taco meat is prepared, but I love to simmer the meat in the salsa sauce to marinate the flavors a bit more. Others take the taco meat and construct their taco by adding salsa; which is totally fine. I just like mine done this way a bit more. Check it out below! Ingredients: 1lb lean ground beef or ground turkey/chicken 14.5oz can of diced tomatoes can also use a 10oz can of rotel if you prefer 1/2 yellow onion 1 pack of taco seasoning I try to use the lower sodium one 1 tablespoon of olive oil or avocado oil Instructions: Grab your ground meat and sit in on the counter for 15min prior to putting into pan I find that the meat cooks quicker vs going from cold fridge to hot pan Heat up your pan on medium heat and add some olive oil or avocado oil Add your ground meat and cook it for 8-10 minutes, until no longer pink Drain any fat out by tilting the pan and absorbing the fat with a paper towel and discarding Add your taco seasoning and cook according to package Once the meat is marinated well with the seasoning, add your onions and cook until translucent (4-5min) Add your diced tomatoes and simmer on low for about 10 minutes. During the time that the meat simmers and marinates in all those flavors, I go ahead and make my pico de Gallo and homemade guacamole. I then heat up my taco shells, grab my cheese and sour cream and Taco Tuesday can commence. Enjoy!
